Now that it seems like everyone is streaming Avatar: The Last Airbender, we wanted to talk about the live adaptation which is currently in the works. Of course, this isn’t the first non-animated piece of content based on the original but don’t let that scare you away! The M. Night Shyamalan movie wasn’t the biggest hit with fans, and there’s been plenty of time to reflect on what went wrong. We’ll talk about the controversy surrounding the film and how it could be eliminated in the new series. Creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko are heading it up as showrunners, and they promise to bring more diversity to the small screen that isn’t just limited to the fire nation. If this is as big of a hit as we think it could be, it could help the way for other adaptations of related content like The Legend of Korra. There are definitely a few pitfalls that should be avoided, but there are a lot of reasons to think this show could actually be a huge success!
