10 Actors Who Followed In Their Parents Footsteps

It’s not easy being the kid of a major celebrity. Hollywood is littered with stories of celebrity kids but some like Ben Stiller, Jason Schwartzman and Kiefer Sutherland have broken through their parental legacies to carve their own. Some are Hollywood royalty like Debbie Reynolds who fostered our own Princess Leia in Carrie Fisher. Imagine having a dad like Tom Hanks and not being intimidated? Takes a smart special kind of calm that a grounded character actor like Colin Hanks had to have instilled in him. Some are still just breaking out like Bill Skarsgard or John David Washington. Some are already at the legendary status more for their lifestyles like Angelina Jolie with Jon Voight or Charlie Sheen after his father Martin. There are those that live in the shadow of success and others who create their own glow. There is no doubt it’s easier in Hollywood to have an in but when your parents have had recognition over a multi movie legacy what does it take to make your own mark? Let’s look at some examples of actors who may have started down the paths of their parents before they found their creative voice and took some steps of their own.

While the questions of lineage getting them to where they are remain, these actors clearly show they have the chops to take on iconic roles in their own right.
