These Plot Holes Make The DC UniverseWay More Complicated

Is the DC Extended Universe still a thing? It seems like the whole DCEU was cast off after Justice League, but all these movies are still finding small ways to connect within the same universe, including the recent release of Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). Well, for all those DCEU purists out there, the whole DCEU is about to get a lot more complicated. One of the biggest surprises in Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice was that both Superman and Batman have a mother named Martha! Just kidding -- the true surprise was when we see Bruce Wayne mourn the passing of Robin. In Suicide Squad, the moment was followed up with the introduction to Harley Quinn -- the one where HUGE text comes across the screen stating she was an accomplice to Robin’s murder. You have a serial killer in the form of Victor Zsasz and another notorious gangster nicknamed the Black Mask -- both causing chaos in Gotham City. There’s no Bat Signal, no sign of Batman, and barley a mention of the caped crusader. Now, this just feels a little preposterous. You know those criminals would have been branded by the bat in no time, but there’s no mention of the guy other than Harley Quinn naming her new pet hyena off of Bruce Wayne. And there’s plenty of more plot holes where that came from!

The release of Birds of Prey fits into the whole DCEU, but the movie also creates some MAJOR plot holes along the way. See how Harley Quinn changes the landscape of the DCEU -- and Gotham City forever.

Quick warning -- there will be major Birds of Prey spoilers ahead.
