Do you think The Simpsons can predict the future or are the creators really time travellers?

It seems like The Simpsons have been around forever, and during that time they’ve covered plenty of topical issues and made more than a few pop culture references along the way. But there have been a few times when this show was a little too on the nose and they ended up predicting the future. . .or at least it seems that way in retrospect! Did an episode called “Marge in Chains” really predict the coronavirus pandemic and the emergence of a new species of hornets? From worldwide issues like COVID-19 to Lady Gaga’s halftime show, we’ll look at all the times this animated show seemingly got it right. Some fans believe it foreshadowed Tom Hanks’ health issues and the timing of an Arnold Palmer joke couldn’t have been any more suspicious. While most Game of Thrones fans were unpleasantly surprised by the ending, maybe we should have seen it coming! Guessing pop culture trends is one thing but naming a Nobel Prize winner in advance is something else entirely.

What do you think about the times this famous cartoon was apparently a little bit too prophetic? Do the writers have a knack for making educated guesses about the world or is it just a coincidence considering the amount of episodes they are?
