10 Movie Adaptations That Didn't Even Try To Follow The Source Material
When it comes to the movie industry, many directors, producers and movie studios play fast and loose when it comes to the source material they are “based on”. Sometimes it’s just some minor tweaks or cuts here and there. Other times the changes can be a little bit more drastic with many characters changed or left out and story points altered. But there are also times when the source material’s only similarity with the movie “adaptation” is basically the title.
In this video we will take a look at 10 different movie adaptations that have absolutely nothing to do with the source material. From a movie based on a video game that added in a completely new story and characters, a zombie apocalypse movie that removed nuanced storylines in exchange for huge action set pieces, to one movie based on a story from a famous novelist who only used one scene from the story it’s based on. These are 10 times where movie adaptations forgot that they were just that - adaptations.
Spoiler Warning- there will be some spoilers in regards to iconic and classic movies so make sure to check out the chapters.
