If you are anything like us (and we really hope you are) you'd have loved the animated comedy The Mitchell’s vs the Machines, and there is good reason for it. The movie is packed full of heart, humor, humanity and pure (h)awesomeness (I couldn’t think of another ‘h’ word) and is overall a great road comedy packed full of meta-humor, sci-fi, pop culture and classic movie references. The reason the movie is so good though has to be attributed to the love and care put into it by its makers Mike Rianda, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who made sure to bring the wonderfully rich animated styles of movies such as Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse and mix it with new technology and a different aesthetic to make it a completely original creation. There are also some hilarious stories, influences for classic scenes and hidden meanings and inspirations scattered throughout the movie - all of which we will put under the microscope here.

In this video then we will take a look behind the scenes at the making of The Mitchells vs the Machines.
