15 Deadliest Zombies In Movies

Well hello Scream Rant… that’s uh, that’s the channel I keep pitching to my bosses to no avail — but perhaps my idea has risen from the grave, as the powers that be have tasked me with the gruesome and unthinkable: a zombie video! Heck yeah. As a horror fan through and through, I love talking about the living dead and today I’d like to work through just 15 iconic zombies from the seemingly thousands from which my greedy braaaaaains can think up — so let’s dig in ya gut munchers and talk about some reanimated legends!

There’s plenty of great zombie films with plenty of great zombies in turn, some of which are great because they have amazing makeup effects, while others are notable for exactly how they become zombies — and still others are just really cool! 28 Weeks Later springs to mind, with Robert Carlyle as Don being one of the great emotionally charged zombie characters. Shaun of the Dead’s comedy hijinks matches up with Return of the Living Dead, although the latter certainly spawned more memorable members of the walking dead. Of course, we have to talk classic voodoo versions, like in the Val Lewton production I Walked with a Zombie, and the classic movies like Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead… heck, even Land of the Dead.

Oh, and Zack Snyder gets his two mandatory mentions, thanks to Army of the Dead and his remake of Romero’s landmark film. Oh and for the horror nerds out there, Re-Animator, Creepshow, and Peter Jackson’s Braindead all get mentions, along with several other classics of the genre. Others like BioZombie, Versus, [REC], Warm Bodies, and various highly deserving films didn’t make the cut — this time!
