When it comes to movies adapting books, they’re is often some very harsh criticism that follows. There are a number of movies that faithfully adapt the books they’re based on and there are even cases of movies surpassing the book in terms of quality content. However, there are also a bunch of movies who cut out storylines and characters, condense plot points and sometimes even change the books they are based on almost completely. Sometimes though it is just the book's ending that gets changed completely. This can be occasionally for the better, other times definitely for the worse.

In this video, we will take a look at 15 movies based on books that completely ignored and changed the book’s ending. Whether that be movie auteurs completely disregarding a book's final chapter, a movie making the ending significantly darker or even switching a character’s fate with another.
