15 Time Actors Successfully Revived Iconic Roles

Casting an actor to revive an iconic character or role can be extremely difficult, especially when that character is beloved by fans all across the globe. There have been many instances where these castings have gone horribly wrong and have been rejected by the fans, with there even being times where a bad casting has tanked a character and a franchise completely. But there have been times where a casting has gone so well that they have revived the role completely and some may even say, made the role their own and arguably provided a better job than their predecessor.

In this video we are going to take a look at 15 times actors successfully revived iconic roles and what they did for a franchise. This will include Daniel Craig taking the James Bond franchise in a different direction, Ewan McGregor nailing the role of Obi Wan Kenobi despite the mixed feelings towards the Star Wars prequels, how Christian Bale and Heath Ledger made the Batman franchise more grounded, how Charlie Cox made us forget about Ben Affleck’s horrendous outing as Daredevil, Tom Hardy, Benedict Cumberbatch, Zachary Quinto, Donald Glover and Emily Blunt slipping into the roles of Mad Max, Sherlock Holmes, Spock, Lando Calrissian and Mary Poppins with ease and Mads Mikkelsen being Mads Mikkelsen.
