Nearly 15 years later and fans are still talking about The Incredibles, the Disney/Pixar film that has completely changed the genre and got us so excited for The Incredibles 2. Looking back on the first film, there are 25 random facts that make the film stand out even more allow us to appreciate how much actually went into the movie.
The movie may have been originally made at Warner Bros. and looked a lot different than the CG print we’ve seen. There are a lot of superhero references in the Incredibles, with some being more subtle than others. The Incredibles also pays homage to classic Pixar movies like Toy Story through some quick cameos. Samuel L. Jackson voices Frozone, and his character selection was chosen for multiple reasons. After Samuel L. Jackson was hired, one scene was directly based off his role in Die Hard With a Vengeance. The voice of Violet drew inspiration from the radio out of all places. The whole family of the Incredibles is very closely related to the Fantastic Four. One of the ships in the movie is very similar to the enemy submarine of an Aquaman villain. The Incredibles theme song is not only used in the movie, but a number of the characters actually know their own theme song. The original villain for the film was a completely different option than Syndrome. Some of Syndrome’s powers were based off real theories by Stephen Hawkings.
