Utopia is here once again, if only as a televised work of fiction. Dennis Kelly's original British Series has been revamped and rebooted by Gillian Flynn for the American entertainment landscape and it looks like it is poised to stay on for a multiple season run. For a show with a huge existing fan following, it is bold on creator Gillian Flynn's part to take on the creator's mantle once again in the absence of David Fincher. Flynn takes a decisive thematic and structural U-Turn with the British cult classic and arguably makes it louder for its new audiences, but she has a clear agenda: to make changes that account for a true 'remake'.
Sasha Lane, Rainn Wilson, John Cusack, Ashley LaThrop, Jessica Rothe, Sonja Sohn, Desmin Borges and Dan Byrd star in Amazon's remade Utopia which was released on the streaming platform a month ago.
