Some K-dramas have used beloved US media as source material or inspiration. By incorporating known stories, K-dramas can draw in a larger audience. Adaptations have long occurred in Hollywood, so most American viewers are used to their favorite shows and movies getting new versions. Just because the practice is normal, though, doesn't mean the adaptations see success. Some shows bomb in their ratings and views, especially when compared to the original. However, some K-drama adaptations exceed expectations by being just as good as the US version. This is often due to the changed plot, cinematography, and actors.
