Kids these days are all spoiled with their CGI battles and sharp LED screen backgrounds. Back in my day, we watched Arnold Schwarzenegger toy around with a rubber face, and we liked it!

That’s remembering the wrong part of special effects history. We don’t want to remember all the terrible practical effects used for visual and audio in film. This video is about the brilliant moments like the T-1000 reforming or the vibrations of a T-Rex footprint in the water cup. You’ll never believe some of the things directors and effects teams used to make movie magic.

Don’t worry, this whole video won’t be about sci-fi this and sci-fi that. Though, to be fair, science fiction movies do use many amazing effects in their films. I want to discuss less commonly discussed effects like those in The Shawshank Redemption, Les Misérables, and It’s a Wonderful Life. So, while I may spend a fair bit of time discussing Alien, Star Trek, Escape from New York, Dr. No, and Jurassic Park, I can assure you this list will cover the whole spectrum.
