The Marvel Cinematic Universe has brought Phase IV to a dramatic and epic close as the two secret advanced nations of the MCU meet head to head disagreeing with what to do about the young Riri Williams and her invention that allows people to locate that precious vibranium. The one thing that both nations can agree on however, is that they should be the only ones to have it. Given what they’ve seen the outside world do without it, it’s a valid concern. The movie ends the 70 year long march for Namor the Submariner to make the transition to live action. As Marvel’s oldest character the leader of Atlantis and occasional tolerator of the surface world Namor has had some notable fans like Clint Eastwood and Daniel Dae Kim and, perhaps most importantly, Kevin Fiege. Fiege’s first attempt to bring the wettest anti-hero to the surface started all the way back in 2006 when the MCU was still just this crazy idea Fiege and Stan Lee had dreamed up. That was also before the House of the Mouse had bought the House of Ideas and Namor’s distribution rights got tied up in the same quagmire that has prevented a new solo Hulk movie. But just like the Hulk Namor can appear in other character’s movies and what better than in the movie about his on and off rival and ally Wakanda? With Shuri taking up the mantle left behind by her brother after actor Chadwick Boseman tragically passing, the movie gets to explore the MCU’s version of how Namor and Wakanda has clashed. Only now Talocan takes the place of Atlantis after almost a century of fiction utilizing Plato’s allegorical lost city. The movie also brings us Riri Williams, future Ironheart and the possible future king of Wakanda, T’Challa junior. What was your favorite detail tucked into Black Panther Wakanda Forever?
