Fantastic Beasts and I would really rather not find them actually, no thank you please! I said, no thanks! There is much in the wizarding world to be envious of. That gorgeous train ride into Hogwarts, cleaning charms, the incomparable convenience of “Accio,” love potions, and of course Weasley Wizard Wheezes. But after this list you’ll be thankful to be firmly non magical. A big thank you to reality… although if you’re in Australia, hard to say, your critters might be as dangerous.

From those first potentially fatal battles with a bathroom troll (I don’t mean like… someone from reddit on the potty, an actual big ol’ troll) to the constant insult to injury that is the Dementor, we rank the baddest that Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger came across. Shockingly, Hagrid isn’t to blame for most of them (yes, there’s much worse than giant spiders). And of course, we can’t forget to check in with the author of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Newt Scamander. There’s plenty in his suitcase to be frightened of, including an entire Nundu. You know, it’s that lion-y, leopard-y guy… I know he seems to really like Newt, but I can’t stress to you enough, he’s not a pet!

Salazar Slytherin’s sneaky little basilisk makes an appearance and I don’t care how many horcruxes his fangs killed he cannot hang! And what about beings who chose to remain classified as beasts? That’s loaded but we ain’t scared. Much like Harry, I see a bad idea, I am going there immediately. Hitch your thestral, wands at the ready: LET’S. GET. UP. TO. NO. GOOD.
