How Gotham could intersect with The Batman

The Bat Signal always stays lit, and it seems that the citizens of Gotham are eternally grateful for the work of the Dark Knight. Yet the Gotham PD rarely seem to get the respect they deserve. After all, Batman has a whole arsenal of tech, Commissioner Jim Gordon? He’s got a trenchcoat. One of the standout moments of the DC Fandome Event which revealed lots of goodies surrounding The Suicide Squad, Black Adam, and Shazam 2; was the trailer following Robert Pattinson’s The Batman. There were some doubters following the casting of the Twilight star, but the two minute taste cleared all doubts with a Bruce Wayne performance that would make the likes of Christian Bale blush.

The film is set to have a massive rogues gallery, hopefully not following into the same trappings that Batman And Robin fell into. The Riddler, Catwoman, Penguin, and the Falcone crime family are all going to appear which leaves quite the amount of paperwork for the Gotham Police Department to shift through. Have no fear, we may very well see that in the recently announced HBO Max Gotham series. There is a lot of hype surrounding the series as it’s going to be executive produced by director Matt Reeves, teasing a healthy amount of crossover between the series and films. Besides, with those recent reveals featured over on Disney + through the Mandalorian and WandaVision, there is certainly some leeway for healthy competition between streaming services.

So just who will follow Jeffrey Wright’s Commissioner Gordon in the series? Who will be the big bad? Why should you even care about a Gotham T.V. series when we just had one that ran for a whopping hundred episodes. Specific runs of comics like Year One and Gotham Central could lead to a rather interesting crossover between the film and the streaming series, so get ready to find out some more info on what could be the next BIG series.
