The Guardians of the Galaxy films certainly have some pretty interesting looking aliens. Whether you’re talking about Yondu, leader of the Ravagers. Nebula, the blue assassin out for revenge, or Gamora, her green-skinned sister, just looking to find her way in the galaxy. All of these humanoid characters took hours upon hours of dedicated work by skilled makeup artists to achieve, but what all went into it?

Was it as simple as just busting out an airbrush and painting them their respective colors? Or was there more to it?
