The biopic tells the story of Helen Reddy, the fiercely ambitious Australian singer behind the 1971 megahit “I Am Woman” that became an anthem for the women’s liberation movement. Helen finds an encouraging friend in legendary rock journalist Lillian Roxon while ambitious aspiring talent manager Jeff Wald becomes both Helen’s husband and manager and, with a strong push from Helen herself, secures her a recording contract.
