Marvel Theory: Thanos Sent Loki To Earth Because Of Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel is still taking the superhero movie world by storm - and even though both the movie and the character have received some needless hate, the vast majority of the reception has been positive.

And rightly so! It's a great movie that offers a fascinating insight into a previously untapped era in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Inevitably, it's also resulted in the spawning of countless MCU theories - including this one, which suggests Thanos sent Loki to Earth in 2012 BECAUSE of Brie Larson's Carol Danvers.

It's based on the fact that, at the end of her recent movie, Danvers single-handedly scared off Ronan and the Kree Empire - which would, in turn, have sent a message across the cosmos that Earth had a protector who wasn't to be messed with.

While we don't believe it would have been Marvel Studios intention for this to be the case back in 2012 - Captain Marvel probably wasn't on their minds when writing The Avengers - it's certainly a theory that works in retrospect.

Loki was dispensable - and that fact that Thanos didn't send the Black Order (his most elite warriors) also helps to back this theory up, as he wouldn't have wanted Captain Marvel to annihilate them, either!
