Looking back on the movies in the MCU, the Phase one Marvel movies were completely different from Avengers: Endgame. But even with the adventures being so drastically different, the movies of the Phase one set up a lot of key elements that would come up later in the series. If even one of these moments hadn’t happened, everything in the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be completely different.

In the end, the smallest details can have the biggest impact and they certainly did for Ironman, Captain America, Thor, the Hulk, and Black Widow. The Avengers team and the fate of the world wouldn’t have been the same without all the puzzle pieces falling together into place.

Maybe things would have been better if Loki and Odin’s relationship was different or if Rhodes hadn’t been able to become the War Machine. Maybe Loki could have won and gained control over the world, Thanos’ plan might have been very different, or there could have been a different Captain America if Steve Rogers hadn’t been chosen for the Super Soldier experiment.

But these are the moments from the first phase of movies from the MCU that led each and every character to the Battle of Earth. The moments that led to the Snap -- both Thanos’ and Tony Stark’s. Maybe some choices could have saved some of the members of the Avengers. Maybe something could have happened to stop Thanos before he started. In the end, though, these moments led the trail to the most epic story ever.
