Onward Is The First Movie In The Pixar Universe

Pixar’s newest film “Onward” features magical creatures galore and two elvish brothers--voiced by Tom Holland and Chris Pratt--as they try to bring their father back to life for a day. Oh, and did we mention it takes place on an entirely new planet? But this whole new planet thing kind of drives a wedge in that whole Pixar Theory. You know, the one that claims every single Pixar film is connected.

But after a little digging, it looks like the planet that “Onward” takes place on might have a lot to do with the Pixar timeline. The theory does specify that all the Pixar films take place in the same universe--not necessarily the same planet. So where does “Onward” fit in?

It looks like “Onward” might fall at the very beginning of the Pixar Timeline. If that’s the case, then the magic in “Onward” probably has a lot to do with the magic in “Brave.” So sit back and grab your treasure map--because we’re about to go on a quest for some answers.
