Now that the new, Patrick Stewart-led Star Trek spinoff Picard has started to air, fans everywhere can breathe a sigh of relief. Not only is the show really, really good, it clearly is coming from the right place. There is so much love for the Original Series, The Next Generation, and all of the other parts of the Star Trek franchise going into the making of Picard, and it shows! All of the episodes that have aired so far have been completely jam packed with amazing call backs, references, and Easter Eggs pointing to all of the Star Trek that came before it. It’s thrilling to see just what is going to pop up in any given scene, and how it is going to relate back to one of the most beloved creations of all time. There have been so many per episode that we couldn’t list them all if we tried, but hey, we gave it a shot anyway. In the first episode alone, there was a heart-wrenching tribute to Data, Picard’s dear friend who he is clearly still mourning. Not only that, but one of the first new characters we meet is Picard’s pitbull, whom he affectionately named Number One, his old nickname for Commander Riker. It also happens to be a shout out to Sir Patrick Stewart’s lifelong commitment to fostering pitbulls and all of his other animal rescue charity work, which is just the best thing of all time. There are so many more awesome easter eggs in the video below, so check it out!
