No one expects the "Fast & Furious" movies to make a lot of sense. In a realistic world, all of the characters in this series would be dead or in jail a hundred times over. We don't go to "Fast & Furious" movies for the moving human drama — we go to see Vin Diesel destroy a helicopter with a car.

That said, even in the heightened reality of the "Fast and Furious" series, we want a little bit of internal logic. So when Tej gets the skillset of a tier-one operator, Cipher hacks the planet, and "Tokyo Drift" somehow ends up taking place in the mid-2010s, it's hard not to notice. These are the biggest plot holes in the "Fast & Furious" franchise.
