After Avengers: Endgame ended with Tony’s snap, an old Captain America and Black Widow permanently gone, it seemed like there were no original Avengers left to carry on to the next movie. But surprisingly, instead of wrapping up his story, Endgame gave Thor a new purpose and set the God of Thunder up for even more adventures and movies.

That’s probably because Thor: Ragnarok was so well-received. Thanks to Taika Waititi, the complete revamp of the Thor franchise revitalized the character and now we’re in for even more Thor movies down the line. But what about future Avengers films? Does Thor have a place in Avengers 5 or other big team up movies? Absolutely he does. Because of his current status, Thor can act as the bridge between the original Avengers team and the new roster. Because we’ll be seeing new heroes officially team up like Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, the Eternals and even potentially Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor, the new Avengers will need someone like Thor in order to keep them in line and hold the team together. And given where Thor started, this is an amazing development.
