These are just some of the hallmarks of the Fast & Furious series, an epic saga of family, cars etc. Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez and the gang have now been bringing us bonkers, fender bending, Tokyo drifting entertainment for two decades now - who would have thought that this was the early noughties Vin Diesel extreme sports action franchise that would stand the test of time?

Pouring one out for XXX.

Perhaps as surprising as this saga’s durability, and the variety of directors that have helmed the various installments - from Rob Cohen, John Singleton, Justin Lin, James Wan and F Gary Gray, to Louis Leterrier, David Leitch and Justin Lin again - to the weirdly stacked supporting cast - take a bow Charlize Theron, John Cena, The Rock, Idris Elba, Kurt Russell et al - is its surprisingly complex continuity. A lot of stuff goes down in these movies, over a lot of years, with different films intersecting each other, blanks being filled in in flashbacks, all sorts of shenanigans. So we decided that we would put these Fast Movies under a microscope, and differentiate our Deckard Shaws from our Roman Pierces.
