How Harry Potter could have ended much differently.

Of course, we are all glad our hero Harry Potter triumphed over his nemesis Lord Voldemort, protecting muggles and the wizarding community alike. But come on, how many chances did You Know Who have to take down this Hogwarts student? If he had just spared Lily Potter like his potentially loyal ally Severus Snape requested, this whole story could have ended very differently. We’ve seen powerful and surprisingly simple magic like time turners and unbreakable vows thrown around instead of being used by Voldemort. And couldn’t he have taken at least a little bit more care with the hidden Horcruxes and fully exploited his connections to the Ministry of Magic? With a little bit of Polyjuice potion, the drama at the Triwizard tournament in Goblet of Fire wouldn’t have been necessary and even someone like Peter Pettigrew could have succeeded. Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley helped their friend most of the time, but they could have easily become liabilities if things had worked out differently.

What do you think about the battle between He Who Must Not Be Named and his greatest foe? How do you think he could have taken him out and changed the future of the wizarding world forever?
