The Suicide Squad: Hidden Costume Details You Missed

Pretty much every superhero movie (or to be honest just movies in general) are packed full of Easter Eggs, secret hidden details, nods to other things (such as their source material) and just interesting behind the scenes stories that make the movie more interesting. That is very much the case in James Gunn’s adaptation of The Suicide Squad, and in partiuclar the costume department and character design.

That’s why in this video we thought we would take a look at some of the key members of the squad and how their final outfits and designs came to be and some of the subtle references and details you might not have noticed on the first viewing. From one character’s outfit having over two dozen weapons hidden in plain sight, a character’s helmet causing major issues behind the scenes and being a nightmare to work with, more comic book accurate designs that were inspired by some of the best DC stories, subtle digs at DC’s main rivals Marvel (and in particular the Guardians of the Galaxy), the main inspiration behind the legend that is King Shark, secret suit abilities you may not have known and the shocking physical effect that was actually practical prosthetics!
