Even if you don’t plan on seeing Joker in the theatres, or maybe ever, you can’t deny the media storm the newest and darkest comic book movie has stirred up. For a movie that has only just arrived in theatres, it has already been in headlines everywhere for weeks, causing the cast and director to have to rush to it’s defense. After winning the most prestigious prize at the Venice film festival and receiving an amazing eight minute standing ovation, the movie quickly received a bit of backlash from various critics and audience members, who question whether or not the movie and its lead character might end up inciting violence among some more radical viewers.
