While most of us have probably done more reading in the last six months than we have in a long time, that doesn’t mean that books haven’t been a huge part of our lives for a long time. So much so, that books are even part of the movies we watch. That’s right, tons of our favorite books of all time have become our favorite movies. And we’re not just talking about Harry Potter or The Lord Of The Rings either. We are talking about all kinds of movies that we love, but had no idea were actually based on books to begin with! Some move adaptations make their source material famous, and some are so famous themselves that the books they are based on get lost in the background. For instance, those who were alive in the 1980’s are probably aware that Dune actually began as a series of novels, but some younger audiences might have never known that fact! We definitely didn’t know that The Devil All The Time was based on a book, or that Denis Villneuve’s Arrival was based on a short story. Fight Club was a book before it was the movie we’re not allowed to talk about, The Social Network was based on a nonfiction book called The Accidental Billionaires about the rise and fall of the Facebook founders, and Annihilation was actually based off of one book in a trilogy. There are even more movies that were not original stories included in this video, so check it out!
