There are some weird jobs in film. Ever hear of an intimacy coordinator? Or think about who comes up with sci fi alien languages? Or how the MCU came up with how “magic” looks outside of the pages of a comic book? You never know what being on set is like until you actually live a lifetime on set. You can watch all the behind the scenes you want (and we absolutely encourage you to watch this one) but until a monkey handler tells the Director of Photography to not look the chimp in the eyes you never really know. Never eat the food stylist’s food. Think about how many cars you’ve seen crushed, hit and jumped in every movie? Mad Max’s cars exploding, Batmobiles ripping through baddies. Someone has to find and modify the cars that get beat up. Sets are great because they are full of film loving nerds with unusual skill sets so buckle up for the post credit scene that is the people in the credits.

Let’s face it there have been a lot of films. When you see something you’ve never seen before it takes someone doing a job you never heard of before. I for one am grateful to have been shocked when the Director asked to bring in the bear, only to watch an 80 year old wrangler apologizing only the backup bear is available since Barney was on lunch. So put down the popcorn and clap when credits roll.
